rachelanastasia: jesuisperdu: Fritz Lang on the set of Metropolis
Rick Roll with a layer added every second (via LightningSpike)
This is kind of amazing.
What do you know, Rick Astley spends most of this video in the centre of the frame, dancing in different outfits! I am, for real, mesmerized.
Poster for a fake Wes Anderson film festival
I have a secret love of MTV Cribs. It pleases me in a money-can’t-buy-taste sort of way, not because the houses featured are so gaudy and over the top, but because they’re essentially dull and middle-class. They’ve still got the faux-cherry cabinetry/granite countertops/flatscreen TVs of your average Burnaby condo development, there’s just more of everything. So yes, by all means, bring on the Hall of Mirrors.
Although, the young American actor dressed as an 18th century nobleman doing present-day blackface aspect of this did make me bizarrely uncomfortable towards the end.
I absolutely agree - I’ve seen it twice, once in Halifax and once in Toronto - and marvelled both times.
Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller - 40 Piece Motet
It’s difficult to fully convey how sublime this piece really is. I saw it in Montreal 7 years ago, and it was the closest I felt to heaven. Each of the 40 speakers plays a different part in the choir. Phenomenal.
